One of the hallmarks of the CSWA's SWP program has been the self-assessment process that growers and vintners go through to determine where they are on the sustainability continuum. As of Fall 2006, over 800 vineyard enterprises and over 100 winery enterprises submitted SWP assessment data for inclusion in the statewide SWP database. Their data was housed in a secure desk-to database, but the participants did not have access to the data itself, instead relying on CSWA to provide them assessment reports.
